A committee is a group of people officially delegated to perform a function, such as investigating, considering, reporting, or acting on a matter. The committee members are chosen based on leadership and people skills, to align committee needs with member skills and interest; members are chosen strategically to develop new leadership for the organization; and committee meetings are conducted efficiently.
